But on stage and on screen, she is a force to be reckoned with: prolific, multi-talented and unabashedly provocative. In fact, his very first foray into music ruffled the nation’s feathers. In 1984, at the age of 12, Gainsbourg and his father recorded the pop duo Lemon Incest, a controversial success that reached second place on the French charts and launched a flourishing career.
Today, having long escaped the shadow of her parents, she is one of the country’s favorite performers – as evidenced by her victory at the Victoires de la Musique as female artist of the year.
